OIS or Occupational Injury Service is a program specifically designed for people who are hurt at work. It provides injured workers with expedited access to medical services at special OIS clinics throughout the province. The focus is on helping injured workers return to work as quickly and safely as possible.
Using an OIS clinic for treatment services is voluntary. Workers can go to their own physician if they prefer. If the worker chooses to use OIS, the OIS visit must be the first physician visit for that work-related injury, unless the first visit was in the hospital emergency room.
Talk to your employer to see if they are signed up for OIS. If they aren’t, encourage them to review the Employer OIS guide for more information.
Once your employer is signed up for the service, you can access any of the OIS clinics across the province when you suffer a work-related injury
OIS is available in Edmonton, Calgary,
Fort McMurray, Grand Prairie, Hinton, Leduc, Lethbridge,
Lloydminster, Medicine Hat, Red Deer and Taber. Find
