Policies and Information Manual

The Policies and Information Manual contained on this website is the official policy manual of the Workers' Compensation Board - Alberta. The manual is updated as amendments are approved by the Board of Directors and it is this original manual which is the final authority for all purposes of interpreting and applying policies.

Policy amendments are announced on the website and links to changed policies are posted for at least 30 days.

How to use the manual (pdf, 27KB)

To ensure access for Albertans, the WCB will maintain a small number of hard copy manuals at WCB office counters and at 9 major urban libraries (pdf, 12KB).  In addition, 5 regional library boards have a paper copy of the manual; you can request information through your local library.  Librarians can also help anyone access the official policy manual on the WCB website from a library computer.
