Chapter: Cost and Entitlement Adjustments
Subject: Cost Relief
Authorization: Board of Directors resolution 2010/10/30
Date: November 30, 2010
Reference: Workers' Compensation Act, RSA 2000, Sections 95, 96, 97(1),
General Regulations, Sections 15, 16, 17

Policy:

Claim costs arising from a compensable accident or occupational disease are normally charged to the accident employer's experience account.  There are, however, exceptional circumstances when the WCB may relieve the employer of all or part of the claim costs.  The appropriate distribution of the relieved costs will be determined by the WCB.

Participation in certain pricing programs will affect eligibility for cost relief (see Policy 07-02, Part II, Application 7, Industry custom Pricing).

This consolidated policy is effective December 1, 2010 except when noted otherwise in a specific policy section(s).
