Labour Market Survey

WCB-Alberta has contracted an external firm, R.A. Malatest, to conduct a survey of the Labour Market in Alberta. The purpose of this survey is to develop profiles of certain jobs in Alberta.

The profiles of the jobs include job descriptions, physical demands, environmental conditions, language requirements, and experience/education requirements.

A single profile for each job will be produced from the data collected from employers across Alberta. This means that an individual employer’s information will not be singled out or identified in

the job profile, but it is an important contribution to gathering accurate and complete information. The job profiles enable WCB to help workers identify good return-to-work alternatives and help provide reliable information to establish the right wage loss supplement benefits for an injured worker.
