Approved research projects
In addition to full-funding research projects, WCB-Alberta
also provides sponsorship for co-funding, data access, and
collection. Co-funding and letters of collaboration assist researchers seeking
funding from other agencies, such as the Alberta Heritage Foundation for
Medical Research and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Data access
and collection enables researchers to access claim data for research purposes.
This includes the review of historical data, live data collection and surveying.
All data requests must satisfy the requirements of the Freedom of Information
and Protection of Privacy Act and undergo ethical review by the appropriate
institution.
