Proper ergonomics can prevent injury and reduce the costs associated with injuries in many different environments. Whether working at a factory machine, a computer or behind the wheel of a vehicle, applied ergonomic principals can make tasks less physically stressful and improve quality, productivity and comfort.

Customized reporting formats are available to make your documents more valuable and user friendly for your business.

Medical and assessment services

Our Medical and Assessment Services offer medical and clinical services for clients. This includes diagnostic procedures, specialist consultations and specialized treatment services to meet each client’s unique needs. These services include:

> Medical Status Exams (MSE)

Examines a client’s current medical state and identifies any further need for medical investigation or treatment.

> Pre-Employment Medical Examinations

This examination helps employers who are hiring new employees. The physician will make their recommendation for ability to safely perform the designated job based on a physical demands analysis provided by the employer.

This does not include a functional evaluation; however a functional evaluation can be arranged in conjunction with the medical examination.

> Post-Offer Pre-Employment Screening (POPES)

This physical assessment provides employers with baseline functional capacity levels for their employees. Recommendations are provided as a pass or fail. The pre-employment functional screening is a tool used by safety conscious employers to help determine whether a prospective worker is fit to perform the physical demands of the job, safely and consistently.

When combined with the Pre-Employment Medical Examination, the functional screening provides a more accurate picture of the employee’s fitness to perform the critical job demands--decreasing the risk of injury.

> Basic Functional Capacity Evaluation (BFCE)

This assessment tool gives a “snapshot” of a client’s current level of function compared to the demands of their job (what they can and cannot do). This assessment helps determine if the individual requires more treatment or services in order to meet the demands of their job and return to work.

> Comprehensive Functional Capacity Evaluation (CFCE)

While similar to a Basic Functional Capacity Evaluation, this detailed assessment tests the client’s overall work capabilities. The two day assessment helps determine the client’s actual work abilities and possible restrictions through a physical exam and functional testing (what they can and cannot do).

> Return to Work Planning Meeting (RTWPM)

This is a meeting held with the client and their employer as part of developing the return-to-work plan. This meeting explores modified duties, alternate employment and the need for ergonomic/worksite modifications.

> Gait Assessment

This assessment investigates problems a client may have with standing and walking and recommends corrective action.

> Vocational Services

In addition to medical, assessment, and treatment services, we also offer vocational services. These services focus on moving the client to employability and can include career counseling, supported job search and gradual return-to-work plans.

> Psychology Services

After an injury, some of our clients may become anxious, depressed or experience chronic pain. For these clients, we can offer psychological assistance to help them cope and break the possible cycle of pain and disability.
