Manage Your Performance and Costs

Be a partner in injury reduction (PIR)

PIR is a voluntary program that can help reduce your premiums by up to 20 per cent while creating a safer workplace. Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR) Program Guide (pdf, 312KB)

How to join Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR):

Step 1: Complete a PIR registration form (pdf, 60KB).

Step 2: Qualify for a discount by earning a Certificate of Recognition (COR):

A COR is issued by the Alberta government in conjunction with an accredited certifying partner who helps with the establishment of workplace health and safety standards.

NOTE: Employers registering in the PIR program for the first time, who have not received their COR by year end, can have their discount carried forward for 1 year and applied if the COR is complete at the end of the next year; therefore potentially receiving 2 discounts the next year. Apply early to participate.

PIR operates through the combined efforts of WCB-Alberta, Ministry of Human Services, and industry safety associations.
